Teeth Whitening, does it work?

Our teeth all contain millions of small microscopic pores and over time, substances from food, fizzy drinks, tea, coffee or tobacco penetrate these small pores causing our teeth to disclour and lose that natural shade. Teeth whitening enables you to regain that beautiful smile and achieve a fast and instant colour transformation of your teeth! Research shows that there is no risk to the enamel of the tooth from this treatment and this painless method leaves your teeth visibly brighter.

What is Tooth Whitening?

T
ooth Whitening provides a way for you to lighten the natural colour of your teeth without causing it any damage. It enables you to lighten your current shade and our current laser-light technology provides fast and effective results.

Should I get my Teeth Whitened?

Very few of us are lucky enough to have that natural white, bright smile - we all have different teeth colours. As we get older our teeth become even more discoloured and lose their natural shine. Over time, smoking and drinks such as tea, coffee, red wine and blackcurrant juice can stain our teeth. This staining can significantly reduce the colour of our teeth. Teeth whitening enables us to reverse these negative effects on our teeth and achieve a whiter shade.

If you are not sure or have any queries about tooth whitening, feel free to give us a call or see one of our dentists who will be able to advise you on the best way forward.

Before and After Teeth Whitening

What does Tooth Whitening entail?

We offer both professional chair-side teeth whitening and home whitening kits; the dentist will be able to advise you on the treatment that would suit you best.

The Professional Chair-side Teeth Whitening involves the latest in laser-light technology which is taking the dental sphere by storm. The process lasts around 1 hour and 30 minutes and involves 3 to 4 cycles within this time. We offer different levels of lightening, so whether you're looking to achieve one of two shades lighter or a visibly whiter look, we can tailor your appointment to suit you. The dentist will first assess the current colour of your teeth and our modern intra oral cameras can be used to show you the primary shade on our patient screens. The treatment will then involve application of whitening product to your teeth, followed by use of the laser-light. Once the required number of cycles has been completed, the dentist will then review your final colour, post-treatment, to show you the change in shade achieved.

Our home whitening kits also provide you an easy way to whiten your teeth from the comfort of your own home. Unlike many commercial home-whitening kits available in the market, our kits are dentist-approved and use the products most likely to make that difference for you! We make a specially fitted tray for you so that you can comfortably carry out the procedure with our easy to use instructions.

How long will the effects last?

The effects of tooth whitening are thought to last up to 3 years; however this will always vary from person to person. The best way to maintain the effects of the treatment is by looking after your teeth well. For long lasting effects, avoid tobacco and drinks which are likely to stain your teeth. Brushing at least twice a day and a getting a regular scale & polish every 6 months will be the best way to keep that colour!

We work to offer the best experience and brilliant results, so our current offer on Teeth Whitening is one not to be missed!
